If you've never had a mobile service come to your home or office before, it's natural to wonder what the process looks like. Here's a complete walkthrough of what to expect when you book a headlight restoration with us — from the first text to the finished product.
Step 1: Text Us a Photo
The process starts with a quick text. Send us a photo of your headlights to (720) 720-4910 and we'll assess the condition and give you an accurate quote — usually within the hour, often within minutes.
We'll let you know if your headlights are good candidates for restoration (almost all are) or if there's any reason replacement might be a better option. We'd rather give you an honest answer upfront than show up and tell you we can't help.
Step 2: Scheduling
Once you approve the quote, we'll schedule a time that works for you. We serve the entire Denver Metro area — your home, your office, a parking lot, wherever your car is. We typically have same-day or next-day availability.
You don't need to be present for the service. As long as we can access the front of the vehicle, we can complete the job while you're at work, inside your home, or anywhere else.
Step 3: We Arrive and Assess
When we arrive, we'll do a quick in-person assessment of your headlights before starting. This confirms the condition matches what we quoted and lets us identify any specific areas that need extra attention.
We bring all our own equipment — dual-action polisher, multiple sanding grits, professional compounds, and UV ceramic coating. You don't need to provide anything.
Step 4: Surface Preparation (Wet Sanding)
The first step is wet sanding the lens surface. We use multiple grits of wet sandpaper — typically starting with a coarser grit to remove the oxidized layer and working progressively finer to eliminate sanding scratches.
This is the most critical step. Skipping grits or rushing the sanding phase is what leads to hazy results or premature coating failure. We take our time here.
We tape off the surrounding paint and trim before sanding to protect your vehicle's finish.
Step 5: Machine Polishing
After sanding, we use a dual-action polisher with a cutting compound to remove the fine sanding scratches and restore optical clarity to the lens. This is where the transformation becomes visible — the lens goes from milky and scratched to clear and glossy.
We follow with a finishing polish to maximize clarity and prepare the surface for coating.
Step 6: UV Ceramic Coating Application
The final step is applying a professional-grade UV ceramic coating to both lenses. This is the most important step for longevity — it's what separates a restoration that lasts 2–3 years from one that fades in 3–6 months.
The coating needs a few minutes to cure before it's exposed to water or direct sunlight, so we'll let you know when it's safe to drive.
Total Time: 45–60 Minutes
The entire process takes 45–60 minutes for both headlights. We'll show you the before and after before we leave — the difference is typically dramatic, and we want you to see it.
What You'll Notice Immediately
Right after the service, your headlights will look significantly clearer and brighter. The yellowing and haze will be gone. At night, you'll notice improved beam projection and reduced glare scatter — your lights will actually illuminate the road the way they were designed to.
After the Service
Avoid washing the headlights for 24 hours to allow the coating to fully cure. After that, normal washing is fine. We recommend hand washing or touchless car washes over brush-based automatic washes, which can abrade the coating over time.
